U.S. bombing causes 13 deaths in Pakistan
According to private news channel Geo News, the attack occurred Monday night in the mountain village of Boya, in the tribal region of North Waziristan bordering Afghanistan.
Two rockets fired by U.S. drone aircraft struck a compound, which according to Pakistani security sources belonged to a suspected Taliban commander in the area, quoted by Latina.
For its part, the United States justifies the bombing in northwestern Pakistan on the grounds that in that area are hidden elements of the Afghan Taliban and Al Qaeda that they make war on his troops in the neighboring country.
The local insurgent organization Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan is also the target of attacks that have now surpassed the hundred so far this year, killing dozens of deaths.
The government of Pakistan, which supports cross Washington and its allies in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Afghanistan, believes that the bombing exacerbate anti-American sentiment among the people for causing a high number of civilian casualties.
Official sources estimated at 700 the number of innocent Pakistanis died last year because of the rockets fired by U.S. aircraft.
